‘29150 flew ninety combat missions with twenty-six
different pilots. Half of the pilots flew her on only one occasion. The
loss was her ninety-first mission.
29150 was damaged by flak on three, possibly four
separate occasions. One required the port wing to be removed for repair
to the wing root.

‘29150 carried a variation of bombs. She carried
either two, sometime three 500Ib bombs (one on each wing, one on
centreline). On longer trips, the centreline carried a 150-gallon drop
tank. She also carried fragmentation, phosphorous bombs and napalm on
some occasions.
It as been estimated that ‘29150 had approximately
250 hours on the airframe, of which 220 hours were combat flying.
Battle honours for ‘29150 include the Ardennes,
Central Europe, and Rhineland.
‘29150 operated with IX Tactical Air Command, XIX TAC
and XXIX TAC. 405FG was reportedly General Patton’s favourite unit!
